4 Rite of Self-Dedication BoS
                                            Rite of Self-Dedication
I am currently reading Scott Cunninghams book ‘Wicca: A guide for solitary practitioners’ and while some points differ from my own view much of it is very relevant to me. One of the bits that stand out the most was his example of a Rite of Self-Dedication. I have come across some in my studies but this is my first true connection with a rite of this type so I will include it within my BoS (Book of Shadows).
While some of the points (especially verses within the speech) are the same I have adapted it to my own liking. If you would like to know the full rite then I strongly suggest picking up his book. It focuses on the Goddess and the God and is very informative.

3 Making your Book of Shadows
HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BOOK OF SHADOWS,
                                  the Dangel Angello way.
I have held back for some time creating a Book of Shadows (BoS) because I always knew that to make a BoS properly you have to have the right intentions behind everything you write. This means that, before you even buy a book to hold your studies, you must know why, and you must be able to know your intentions so well that you can write it down.
Now this may be over the top to some people who’d rather just write down what they learn and not care for its spirit but for me, with how important Wicca has become, I knew I needed to do it right (though remember my right may not be your right).

Understanding Eclectic Wicca
Eclectic simply means you do not follow any one path exclusively, but draw your beliefs from many. It is a common practice among solitary Wiccans, and when enough people of shared eclectic beliefs form a coven and their beliefs are given a name, a new branch of Wicca is born.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with remaining solitary, however. It gives you the freedom of adjusting and tweaking your beliefs until they're perfect for you, something that would seldom be possible in a coven. While some may consider it a lonely path, it offers you the flexibility to choose what YOU want to believe.
Think of your personal eclectic path as a puzzle with lost pieces. You've put it together the best you can without those pieces, but until you find them it's incomplete. When you choose a magickal name, you've found one of the pieces. Then you find your matron deities, and another piece is found. As you walk your path, you'll keep finding the missing pieces and soon your puzzle will be whole. It m
